on the road

We are on our way! We had a later start than we intended, but we were in St. Pete well before dinner (or rush hour). Dad and I went to pick up the trailer yesterday after lunch... long story short, we spent the afternoon evaluating the towing situation and decided to trade the "roomy" 6'x12' trailer for something more manageable for the van, namely a 5'x8'. Which meant that we spent some time after dinner making another run to the storage unit to leave some more belongings here in Florida... which meant that we didn't start actually packing the trailer for the trip until about 8 last night. A big thank you to David who came and slaved with Andy to get a big start on the loading. Amazingly enough, we did not have to leave much more behind than we'd originally planned--our bed, the kids' coloring table, and a few boxes of toys was all. We finished loading up this morning, cleaned the house, and were finally on the road by 2 this afternoon. The trailer rode well and we are here. Tomorrow, Atlanta!
